This hat is based on a traditional Scottish ‘Tam’ hat that was historically worn by men. It would have been a woollen felted hat which would have offered protection from all weathers in the Highlands. The name has come from the drums that would have been beating as the men went to Fght wearing their Tam hats.

The pattern is written row by row with no chart. It is written for one size which is approx. 22/23cm

It is aimed at knitters of all abilities.
